RE: Operational: S.T.A.R.

Star looks to the man and nods. "Yes, those are shots. I assume it is the humanoid military unit fighting off the unknown life forms about six hallways over. We must hurry." She shifts and jets again into a nearby office and sets the man down gracefully, but a little rough. She comes up to the computer and her alloy fingers begin typing at around 250 words per minute, the map of the facility easily coming up within a mere ten seconds as she searches files.

She scans the map and stores it into an empty database and then ducts to scoop the man up again and runs out of the office. Her eyes flicker to the left and to the right  before she turns left down the hallway and moves further away from the military unit.

"You should be glad. The main lab hub is away from the unknown life form that was attacking you. It serves my purposes as well. I believe this is what you would call 'luck'."

She still kept her systems open and glanced behind her every so often, making sure whether the damaged SYST unit was really following her or if it had just caught up due to her multiple pauses. While inefficient, it couldn't be helped and ultimately had aided her in finding a way out of this place, seeing as it was highly improbable that she would be able to search for her components and survive if she stayed here.

Her alloyed feet softly clicked on the marble floor of the hallways as she twisted and turned, soon coming upon the main lab hub. If one could actually see her systems working, they'd seem much like busy bees working in a hive, all together but seeming like they were doing everything at once.

RE: Operational: S.T.A.R.

The door out of the section into the main lab hub is an enormous stainless steel vault door. It looks like it's intended to not let anyone in or out. However, it's open slightly and appears to be damaged by explosives.

Radio chatter comes through again:

Voice: Motion tracker at the entrance is flaring up. Tac Two, do you copy? Motion tracker is alert. Over.

No response.

Voice: Tac Two, dang it, are you there?

Through the vault door, you can see that the hub is a very ornate structure, with dark mahogany desks, fountains, statues, you name it. The entrance to section 5 is actually on the second floor, on a circular balcony surrounding the open hub floor.

On the floor in front of Star are three dead men, who appear to have been shot with very high-caliber weapons.

Star slowly lets the man down as she quickly scans the dead bodies, possibly for any hand-held firearms before her gaze flickers to the damaged vault door.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Humanoid Military Unit: Threat (82%)
Vault Door: Damage (33%)
Advanced Weaponry Systems ...
Possible Pounds of Pressure: 570
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Her scans reveal that the door is only partially damaged and that is she used the full strength of her current, uncomplete systems that she could put enough pressure on the doors to open it far enough for the man and her to sqeeze through sideways.

She looks over to the man. "I will begin to open this door and go through first and then wait to see if it is safe before turning sideways and going through yourself." She then gives a single, subtle nod before turning to the door and putting each hand to the sides of the opening and begins applying the pressure to the doors, knowing they'd lock up just as she got a big enough space for them both to sqeeze through.

The vault door creeks and groans as sparks fly from the door sustaining further damage before they lock onto internal blocks within the door and stop. Star looks into the room fully before sliding sliding through the small space, taking any firearms that she might've found, or none if there wasn't any.

She seems to slow down, being more aware at this point as it was a big room with three men dead just outside and that it was it entirely probable that either the military unit or unknown life forms would've set a temporary base up here.

The hands of the dead men seems to have been mangled by sharp things wrenching their guns away from them. Their sidearms are still strapped into their holsters, however. All three have Springfield Armory XD Service models in .40 caliber.

The scientist squeezes through the doorway and stares in horror at the bodies on the floor.

On the far side of the balcony are two wide sets of stairs curving down to the lower level. In the center of the massive cylindrical chamber is a clear-walled elevator shaft, leading directly up and out of sight in the ceiling. The elevator itself is nowhere to be seen.

From beneath the section of the balcony they're on comes an odd mechanical sound. Two metallic, skeletal humanoids come into view, walking with a robotic gait across the room, either toward the elevator shaft or the stairs up to the balcony.

Scientist: What the heck are those?

He speaks unnecessarily loudly.

Star watches the two skeletal humanoid machines for a moment before putting two of the Springfields in one hand and aiming the other to the closest one - by the elevator shaft. "Obviously not the unknown life form. They are both robotic humanoid skeletons with high chances of either basic or advanced A.I.s. Take cover." With only giving the man a moment to gain cover, she begins to shoot the pistol firearm towards the skeleton unit, her alloy arm easily taking in the recoil and obviously not caring if the metallic units were hostile or not.

She steps forward a little to let her systems see if the shots were actually taking affect on it's body structure, though she assumed it probably wouldn't help her much. Never-the-less, it was advantage she had that she intended on using to get out of this place.

The machines stop as Star fires on them. Seemingly unfazed, they slowly turn around, revealing their faces adorned with inhumanly large, teeth-baring grins. They point their enormous rifles in the general direction of the balcony and begin firing wildly from their hips. They are grossly inaccurate, but there's a lot of fire coming Star's way.

The scientist starts screaming.

MT Leader: This is Mike Tango Leader, we're approaching the entrance. Sounds like gunfire outside. Over.

Thankfully for Star, her rather unknown but unique alloy keeps most of the bullets from doing much harm, though it doesn't stop her systems from guessing the paths of the bullets and shifting lightly to dodge most of the assault. There were a lot of errors and bugs in her systems and she truly didn't know how long her body could actually sustain any sort of direct attack.

She threw the guns to the below balcony for later use as she notes that one is further away from the other, making it a perfect situation to gain a hand-to-hand battle with one while the other either kept firing or stopped to walk over.

Along with information her scans already gave her, she guessed that their A.I.s or even brain, if they were some sort of metallic life form were rather simplistic and that they walked slower - much slower than her. She knew not to underestimate them though as she began to do forward cartwheels as to keep her target small and if by some miracle they did hit her, the damage would be spread out.

As she reached the first one, she came up close to the metallic skeleton and didn't even bother to do anything with the gun as she twirled partially and used a roundhouse kick against the side of the thing's head, making sure to read how much damage she had actually done to it.

RE: Operational: S.T.A.R.

As Star approaches the two machines, they instantly switch their attack to the flamethrowers mounted underneath the barrels of their rifles. The flame isn't quite hot enough to severely damage Star unless under prolonged attack, and as she attacks one of them, their flamethrowers begin to engulf one another.

Apparently now perceiving each other as a greater threat than Star, and with a simultaneous, enthusiastic uttering of the word "sweet," they stand perfectly still, bathing each other in the flaming gases expelled from the tubes on their hulking weapons.

It is very apparent at this point that their intelligence is far below average.

By this time, the scientist is cowering at the top of the stairs and watching the ruckus. Radio chatter indicates that one of the human teams inside section 5 is about to exit the vault door.

Were Star at all human, she would've blinked and stared momentarily at both of the machines, in utter awe of their unbelievably low intelligence. However, likely to her advantage, she wasn't in the least bit interested. All she knew was that they were distracted and posed no threat as it stood now.

She turned to the scientist for a moment, picking up the firearms and easily checking which one she had used before and how many shots she had fired. "We've had too many delays. One of the human military units are about to enter this lobby. You can stand near the elevator or hide under the stairs, but I'm going to call the elevator and wait for it. If the military begins to fire, I'm going to resist." Star almost spoke as if she would understand if the scientist didn't wanted to follow her and then simply turned to the elevator, pushing the button in the front of it. She turned again towards the vault door waiting for both the elevator and the military unit - if it came before the elevator.

RE: Operational: S.T.A.R.

The scientist, totally befuddled by the robots going at each other with flamethrowers, barely catches what Star said. It takes him a moment to actually figure it out, but he then nods and heads for the stairs.

Four men can be seen exiting the vault door.

MT Leader: We have exited the lab. We've got three bodies... It's Tac Two. Their weapons are gone. Uh, what's that?
MT Two: There's two, uh, looks like combat droids down there; not ours. They're just... shooting flamethrowers at each other. Over.
Command: Do they seem--
MT Leader: Wait, I've got eyes on the android. It called the elevator, it's trying to escape. Over.
Command: Subdue it! Hurry!

In an unusual tactical maneuver, they drop two ropes over the side of the balcony. Two men stay up top and hold the ropes while the other two fast-rope down and begin to approach Star, G36Ks shouldered but lowered, not aimed at Star.
