Jake Conner, born in the small village of The Bronx, Dankton,
Meeriad, in 4197, lost his parents to homicidal maniacs when he was
very young, and went out into the wilderness to "find himself." When
he couldn't do it, he panicked and ended up in a foster home. At seventeen, he took his slag and went out into the wilderness to "find himself." This time, he did, because he wasn't a stupid six year old anymore. It's not hard to find your own body, but somehow kids manage not to. He traveled from town to town for some time, doing errands and odd jobs for random people for cash. By some insane luck, all of his "clients" were members of a single, large crime family. He was in deep now that he had privately carted packages across town, let me tell you. When a gunfight erupted during one of his jobs, he picked up a gun and killed everyone by himself, despite the fact that he never even held a gun before, much less fired one. He was feelin' like Billy Badawesome about then, so he became a mercenary and started using his magic gun skills to make money. When he got enough money from killing people--get this--he opened an inn in Sekhmet. Then one time in Nookiya Forest, he tried killing Chris Storms because he was bored, and Chris was so impressed with his near-death experience that he recruited Jake into his and John Gibson's mercenary organization, renaming it Storms, Gibson, & Conner in honor of their new member.
