Artificial gravity is a marvel of science and probably wouldn't be
understood by any but the greatest scientific minds. You won't find
how it works here. Artificial gravity is generally an integrated system of life support, but sometimes not. It is an invisible field generated inside a ship to keep things from floating around. It can generally be enabled or disabled, or its intensity adjusted. Some ships even have adjustable field sizes, though they never expand much further than ten feet outside the ship. This can be used to walk on vertical or inverted surfaces if your ship can handle landing on one. Inertial dampeners are often built into the artificial gravity system, allowing atmospheric flight at very high speeds with minimal effect on the pilot's or passengers' bodies. |
