Epilogue: I only got the upper assembly, stock, buffer tube, and lower parts kit. I still have to get a stripped lower receiver (legally classified as the firearm, which is why I was able to have this stuff shipped straight to my house ) and put it all together. For the picture I used Wolf's Bushmaster lower.

But if you think Americans are gun nuts, look up Switzerland some time. Hint: You can't go grocery shopping with a Swiss Arms 550 rifle in the United States. On a slightly Daireem-related note, if you ever do any posting on Meeriad, that picture pretty much sums up the society of that planet.

Our soldiers hate it because it only wounds! If somebody is trying to kill me, though, I believe in having the right to kill them right back. Beyond that, once I get it built, it'll probably just sit in a corner except on the very rare occasion I get to go shooting. Ammo's too expensive, and it's too hard to get to a decent range. We used to be able to shoot in our yard, but now we have too many people around to complain about the noise. And I don't hunt. The only thing I would ever kill with my rifle is bacteria (who happen to be on the piece of paper when my 5.56mm, 55 grain projectile collides with and ultimately pierces it) and somebody (or something) who is trying to kill me or somebody else I don't want dead.

It's a pain in the butt to get a sound suppressor. I hear in some countries in Europe you can just buy a sound suppressor over-the-counter at a hardware store because it's considered rude to shoot without one. Go figure. Anyway, a little off-topic maybe? Post more pictures when you finish it! We all eagerly await! Really.
