Yamada Riko Artifical Superhuman 10/21/2008 5:03:44 PM Level: 1 Experience: 0 Total Posts: 66 | RE: The Streets of Kepp There was silence for a while after the question, both from Ms. Riko and the white dressed man. Finally the man nods a little and unfolds his arms just to fold his hands in his lap and lay back, crossing one leg over the other. "Seems like a reasonable question... just don't ask too many, because you may not always get the answers you're looking for," he warns calmly before continuing, "Ms. Riko lives in a military compound with us, even if it's a bit nicer for her to live in. You can expect the same attackers as you would allies - soldiers, battle suits, other bio shells ... possibly assassins and the like. We're just being careful with Ms. Riko, but right now she seems safe." The white girl finally looks away from the burning scene outside and down to her folded hands in silence, barely shifting or moving at all. She didn't even look like much, making it hard to imagine 'why' she was living in a military compound and even more so why she would have attackers at all. |
Terrathel assassin/mercenary 10/21/2008 5:13:58 PM Level: 1 Experience: 0 Total Posts: 74 | RE: The Streets of Kepp Terrathel nodded to the warning, expecting that, it was the last question he was planning on asking anyway he nodded again at the military part. "Then I will accept. This will make my side easier as I am sure you're well equipped, both with defenses, and weapons, I will acquire my equipment from you if you are willing, and as such, can start immediately." at the last part he turned his eyes to the man, scanning his memory for something to end the conversation, the most common entry was the handshake, so he offered one. "we can discuss payment as we travel to wherever your next objective is." |
Yamada Riko Artifical Superhuman 10/21/2008 5:36:39 PM Level: 1 Experience: 0 Total Posts: 66 | RE: The Streets of Kepp "Good," he says in an approving tone as he takes the shell's hand and shakes it lightly, almost gimply. He was either really weak or hiding his real strength, either way, he returned his his posture and clicked a button. "Driver, let's head back to the compound." The limo started to roll forward slightly and gained speed as it took to the roads and the scenery began to pass them on by. Ms. Riko's gaze went back to the outside world, quiet as ever, having only said one word the entire time thus far. "Payment. Hm, I believe the job pays a hundred dollars an hour, if you're able to keep alert on the job and aid Ms. Riko with anything she needs aid with. Being her bodyguard also includes helping around, if she needs it ... though she likes to do things herself most of the time. Isn't that right, Ms. Riko?" Again, no words come from the woman's lips, only silence. "Hm. Something to note, she's used to being called Ms. Riko and responds to that name the most... unless she says otherwise, I suppose, but it's not come up yet. I hope you don't mind her quietness at times, Mr. ... may I have your name? Mine is Warulia, no need for formal names with me." He offers a polite smile, folding his hands in his lap once again. |
Terrathel assassin/mercenary 10/21/2008 5:46:29 PM Level: 1 Experience: 0 Total Posts: 74 | RE: The Streets of Kepp Terrathel twitched at the listed wage, but said nothing. When the man finished he smiled back "I've been a servant, cook, bodyguard, assassin, and manual labor before, I can handle any common needs." He glanced back at her again. "she doesn't waste words, I respect that. I am Terrathel I have no last name." at which point he shut up himself, cleaning up his memory system, linking files, and renewing registries, placing ones he was more likely to use at the top for quick(er) response. |
Yamada Riko Artifical Superhuman 10/21/2008 10:43:46 PM Level: 1 Experience: 0 Total Posts: 66 | RE: The Streets of Kepp Warulia nods a bit, apparently satisfied with the response and too looks out the window, apparently used to the silence as they drove to the compound. Within the next half hour, the compound came into view off of the side. A rather noticeable place, but it seemed nested into the mountains well enough. From the outside, it just seemed surrounded by giant walls with guards and turrets placed upon them and a single tower prodding up from the middle. As they approached the gates, they swung open slowly to let the black limo in and closed just as slowly behind them. Inside, there seems to be various training grounds mostly, both interior and exterior ones though only a few personal were seen walking around the grounds. There also seemed to be some sort of machinery and science work building off to the side, but from the looks of it, nothing else could be drawn from it. In the middle was a sizeable building and the tower seen before coming from the top and where most personal was seen. Slowly the limo parked and within a couple of moments, the driver had opened the door on Ms. Riko's side, leaving the man in white opening his own door and holding it politely to Terrathel. "Welcome back, Ms. Riko," a passer-by said with a soft smile. "Thank you," she replies softly before the man went back to his work. She stepped out slowly and brushed her dress off before folding her hands in front of herself and nodding to the driver. The driver seemed content with this and too, headed inside. Ms. Riko stepped up the edge of the sidewalk that lead inside the main building and awaited the other two patiently. "If you would, Mr. Terrathel," said Warulia as he waited for him to step out and shut the door behind him. "This way please... Ms. Riko will be training soon, if you could accompany her. It may become obvious why she's such a guarded secret..." Warulia gestured to the side of the main building where some of the training grounds seemed to be as Ms. Riko began her walk that way slowly without waiting. |
Terrathel assassin/mercenary 10/21/2008 11:35:13 PM Level: 1 Experience: 0 Total Posts: 74 | RE: The Streets of Kepp Terrathel steps out, studying the walls, looking for weak points, and infiltration points. He then surveys the faces around him, and postures, to identify anyone not behaving ordinary, he had to know what ordinary was here. He then nods to himself, and Warulia, moving after Yamada. "Just call me Terrathel, Mr. is for those with family names, I am me, and only me, I survive on my own merit or none at all." That being all he had to say, he resumed stuying every niche and cranny, committing anything of use to memory, discarding the rest. (god bless computer minds) |
Yamada Riko Artifical Superhuman 10/21/2008 11:52:09 PM Level: 1 Experience: 0 Total Posts: 66 | RE: The Streets of Kepp "Ha, as you wish, Terrathel. Anyways, keep her company ... I have some other duties to attend to," he explains as he walks into the main building, leaving Yamada leading the way to one of the exterior training grounds. They approach part of the grounds, apparently a giant circle lines with a one inch wall, and another a foot away, continuing until there was no more room - much like a target. One of the man came jogging up to her and smiled wide to her and patted her on the shoulder in a friendly matter. The man seemed to be wearing a sort of causal training armor, padded in all the weaker areas and heavily clothed in more of the stronger spots on the human body. "Ms. Riko! Glad to see you made it back safely from your trip! Oh? Hello there, who's this Ms. Riko?" Yamada nodded as the men greeted her and turned partially to her new bodyguard, gesturing to him lightly. "This is Terrathel - just Terrathel," she replies, making it obvious she was more aware than one might have thought. "Ah, well then Terrathel, nice to meet you. I'm Ms. Riko's instructor, Wares Jeald." This man had no hesitation about walking up to the bio shell and offering his hand to him in a friendly and polite greeting. |
Terrathel assassin/mercenary 10/22/2008 12:31:45 AM Level: 1 Experience: 0 Total Posts: 74 | RE: The Streets of Kepp Terrathel smiles knowingly at her introduction, he'd suspected as much, then blinks, at the man's unhesitating greeting. "And you." shaking the hand. "I am to protect and assist 'Ms. Riko' full time. I suspect I will do plenty of learning during such." He flashed his first ever amused smile in Yamada's direction, before dropping to serious and studying the terrain again. he pulled off his raincloak as it was no longer raining, stuffed it in his bag, and prepared for an interesting learning experience from what the man in white had said. |
Yamada Riko Artifical Superhuman 10/22/2008 12:48:40 AM Level: 1 Experience: 0 Total Posts: 66 | RE: The Streets of Kepp Surprisingly, Yamada actually smiled a little to herself as Terrathel flashed his own amused smile in her direction. Obviously, this young woman wasn't completely void of emotion as many might have come to suspect at this point. "Oh, really, so you're a hired bodyguard! Well, glad to have you aboard. Well, let's just get started with exercises for today, Ms. Riko." The man seemed awfully friendly, to say the least, and in some small way, Yamada seemed to respect the man as she nodded and went to the middle of the circle without hesitation. The instructor then nodded to several other men that began to step into the circle with her, though towards the outside. Wares folded his arms over his chest causally as they watched. Oddly enough, the men that had stepped in the circle were wearing much heavier training suits, almost padded enough to look like metal suits of armor, though that didn't seem to be the case. Calm as ever, Ms. Riko stood in the middle with her small hands folded in front of her. "Let the rookie go first, he outta get a kick out of this!" one of them explained, with some laughter following. One of them nudged a young man forward as he nodded, almost looking a little confused that his opponent was a slim-looking ghostly woman. The rookie circled the woman a bit, seeming unsure how to go about attack a woman before a yell came out of the other experienced men, "hey, we don't have all day!" Some smirks spread across the crowd. Soon, the rookie charged Ms. Riko with a half-pulled punch going towards her stomach. Sadly, the 'rookie' didn't have much time to react when the woman sprang into a combat stance faster than a cat could run from pray, easily grabbing his fist and hitting her elbow against the heavy leather armor and making an audioable 'thud!' The laughter issued some as the rookie grunted and nearly fell backwards, holding his chest. "Dang! That hurt! How the heck!" he exclaimed, as Yamada returned to her calm stance she had before. One of the others patted his back and offered him a friendly smile. "Don't worry rookie, you'll learn she'll be able to get us all if she really tries... sometimes she gives us a break." If one was looking, you could see an amused smirk forming across the young woman's lips, apparently having struck him like that on purpose, though it was obvious that she hadn't hit him as hard as she could have. |
Terrathel assassin/mercenary 10/22/2008 12:57:33 AM Level: 1 Experience: 0 Total Posts: 74 | RE: The Streets of Kepp Terrathel raised an eyebrow as the men walked out, beginning to know what to expect by who was the most padded, and who wasn't, he settled more of his inventory into place. When she floored the first attacker, she caught his full attention. leaning against the nearby wall he settled in for an interesting learning experience, this one more important than the walls. Learn your allies habits, learn how they move, not only can you protect them better, and fight beside them if necessary, but also how to counter if they turned on you. he studied every pattern, tried to get a rough calculation on power. She overwhelmed even a well built human on strength and speed... He was much impressed. |
