Balinor Pill Popping Medic 3/26/2008 11:02:57 AM Level: 1 Experience: 0 Total Posts: 48 | RE: Tenga Cuidado con Piedras Though it was nice having someone else to do all her reasoning for her, Balinor had already concluded that the only logical way the virus could have been introduced would be that someone brought it in with them, either artificially, or someone who was infected. And since the outbreak was limited to this facility only, that meant that someone had brought it intentionally. This wasn’t an accident, it was an attack by someone who had a very strong point to make. What that point was, and who had brought the disease, she doesn’t know. Balinor: I will upload the file to the system’s database. You may access it from there. I will create an account for you. I ask that you keep a log. William’s room comes into view, Balinor knocks on the door several times before trying to handle. It’s locked. So she will wait in the hall until he responds. Eventually, she can hear someone shuffling about on the other side of the door. Sure enough, the knob turns and William appears in the doorway. William: G’morning. He looks very disheveled and tired. |

She kept a comfortable distance from her and waited until the door knob turned and it opened, showing the tired man. "Good morning," she seemed to reply, whether it was obvious that William was greeting her or not as she examined him a little. It must've been an odd sight for the man at least. |
Balinor Pill Popping Medic 3/27/2008 8:31:41 PM Level: 1 Experience: 0 Total Posts: 48 | RE: Tenga Cuidado con Piedras William looks past Balinor to Star and greets her with a little wave of his fingers. He examines her right back, not fazed by how she's scrutinizing him. William: Feel free to come in. He opens the door the rest of the way and Balinor walks in, taking a seat on the couch after she casts an inquisitive glance to the air vent. William notices, his eyebrows hitch. William: Just let me get dressed and I'll be out to-- He catches sight of the clock and stops mid-sentance. William: Do you know what time it is? Balinor: Of course. Her eyebrows also raise, though her look isn't as curious as his. William: You should still be asleep, Bali. You had a hard night last night. Balinor: I am aware of this. William: Well... Balinor: I feel fine, thank you for your concern. William: Listen. I want to get out of here just as much as you, but I'm not going to risk your mental well-being just to be free a few days earlier. Balinor gives him a very castigating look and he holds up his hands in defeat. It was a gesture that had grown on her over her time with him. William: Just let me get some clothes on. A few minutes later, William re-emerges from his bedroom, dressed very casually. William: Where to first, Doc? Balinor smiles gently. That had also grown on her. Balinor: The most likely cause of the infection is that someone brought the virus in with them. William: That would have to be one of the first victims-- Balinor: On purpose. Williams appears rather shocked at such a suggestion. William: Why would someone do that? Balinor: Perhaps they had something against the facility. William falls silent and stares, first at Balinor, then at anything in the room his eyes happen to land on. Balinor can practically see the wheels turning in his head. William: So the first thing to do would be to check all the employee's records. Balinor: Correct. William stands and returns once more to his room, where he finds his laptop. He sets it up on the table in the middle of his make-shift dining room. William: I can access all their records from here. Where should we start? Balinor: I'm not sure. Do you have any ideas, Star? |
Lydyn S.T.A.R. 3/27/2008 9:28:44 PM Level: 1 Experience: 0 Total Posts: 116 | RE: Tenga Cuidado con Piedras Star walks in slowly, watching the two and then looking around the room slowly, as if a way to idly pass the time by. She doesn't seem to notice much after she began taking note of the room around her, though she found herself near the laptop as it had opened. She gaze turns to them for a moment as she's asked and she stares for but a moment. "You don't know? My first suggestion would be to check the highest personal here with the highest possible access and simply go down the list, one by one. Chances are more probable that someone higher in the chain of information had brought it here ... if you were to take my suggestion, this would include William. I would even suggest myself and you, Balinor, had you and I been here at the time of infection. Of course, anyone who had been here after the infection would obviously not be a target." |
Balinor Pill Popping Medic 3/28/2008 12:29:24 AM Level: 1 Experience: 0 Total Posts: 48 | RE: Tenga Cuidado con Piedras Of course Balinor knew, but she felt Star needed to be included in the conversation, and she didn't seem like the type to interject. Still, having Star say outloud that it might be William, even though Balinor knew it could be anyone, made her stomach turn a little. William wasn't bothered by it though. William: Of course... We'll go through my file first, just to scratch me off the list that much sooner. Balinor: ... William pulls up his own file. It has all his school marks, his employment history, his resume, several letters of recommendation praising him for his work ethic and quality. He has no criminal record, or any other red flags. Balinor lets out a sigh of relief she didn't know she had been holding. Balinor: The doctors next. |
Lydyn S.T.A.R. 3/28/2008 7:52:02 PM Level: 1 Experience: 0 Total Posts: 116 | RE: Tenga Cuidado con Piedras Star does interject this time though, probably much to Balinor's dismay. "I find it best to advise, even without any sort of records of criminal activities or any other suspicious details, it's not to say someone may have been pushed to do this or even working with those that can effectively alter the records themselves. Just keep this in mind as the investigation goes on," she seemed to warn, but didn't seem to actually hint at William, more so that Balinor might be prepared for that scenario if it came. Whether she had actually caught that or not though, Star wasn't sure of. She found it best not to say those exact thoughts in a blunt manner though, especially seeing how stressful this was anyways. Though were someone to know all of this, it might've seemed a bit odd for an android ... of course, there was always the possibility it was just trying to make the most effective use of those around her - like a computer. |
Balinor Pill Popping Medic 3/29/2008 12:59:56 AM Level: 1 Experience: 0 Total Posts: 48 | RE: Tenga Cuidado con Piedras ((Har har)) Balinor looks up and narrows her eyes thoughtfully. William just shrugs again and pulls up another file. And then another, and then another, and then another. They don't find anything interesting or even remotely worth investigating in any of them for what seems like a discouragingly long length of time. But then, finally, something extraordinary. Balinor: Wait! Go back. William went back a page on Dr. Ian McMullen's file. Balinor: Look, there. What's that say? William: Five years ago, he was detained for protesting at the funeral of Professor Shirly Eu. The professor had been teaching the effects of toxic waste on a planet's environment, especially the waste left behind by mining companies. She was trying to prove that the toxicity is not as harmful as is believed, and is, in fact, a rejuvinating force in an environment. In her lectures, she specifically cited Core Mining. Dr. Ian McMullen was held overnight, and released the next morning, along with over 100 other protesters. Balinor: Why were they protesting? William: Because of her theory. It was a group of environmentalists. Balinor: Where did Professor Eu teach? William: It doesn't say. Balinor: Look it up. William minimizes the employee records and pulls up an internet browser. He does a quick search for Shirley Eu, her orbituary is the third link on the search page. After scanning through it, William replies. William: Hashard University, Vansid. Balinor: Tough school. William: Indeed. |

Him being immune would give a bit more weight into his doing of this, though him not being wouldn't have the opposite effect exactly. Though it's perhaps more curious how he manged to not only enter the colony without raising much notice, but how her acquired it in the first place. Perhaps a container of some sort? Though wouldn't he have to travel a ways to the outer rims of the galaxy and then all the way back here - assuming he was the carrier?" She seemed to post interesting questions and the tone of the questions, if not her voice, alone cued into her own curiosity of all this. "One must also ask the obvious question ... why was he allowed to join this colony?" |
Balinor Pill Popping Medic 3/29/2008 10:49:40 PM Level: 1 Experience: 0 Total Posts: 48 | RE: Tenga Cuidado con Piedras Balinor: Dr. McMullen... died, almost a month ago. There is silence. Balinor: Check the school records. Who else attended Hashard? William runs a search through the employee directory and four names are found that match the query. William: Elena Pinkton... deceased. Tray Crick, deceased. Tucker... Tucker! I didn't know he went to Hashard. Balinor: He does seem a little young William: And immune. Balinor: Who's the last person? William: Markus Quake. Balinor: The aide. William makes a thoughtful sound at this. |
Lydyn S.T.A.R. 3/30/2008 3:22:28 AM Level: 1 Experience: 0 Total Posts: 116 | RE: Tenga Cuidado con Piedras Star pauses for a moment as the two continue to talk, before slowly taking herself over to William's bed and sits on it without concern for whatever mess there was, only removing things she may break if she sat on them. She begins to stare ahead and falls silent until William makes the thoughtful sound. "Is there something unusual about Markus or is it just interesting he attended the school?" She gives only a small pause before adding, "and when is Tucker supposed to begin the work on my exterior shell, again? You never mentioned a time. It's 0618 or 6:18 AM." |
