His control panel starts beeping. He checks his systems to see that he's lost power to his left engine. Apparently, the Coyote got a couple of lucky shots in, and left a few holes in the wing. He checks his radar, and hee's an other blip behind them. Sam: Looks like they've got a third coming up on us. Take it down.

It was designed to get your from point A, to destroy point B. So his ship had a rather good radar system on it. He kept Alex posted on the Coyote's position. Sam: The Coyote is increasing in altitude. Sam pulls up and approaches the cloudline, his ion cannon ready to fire at first sight of the Coyote.

The Mosquito doesn't even show up on Alata's radar. He mashes the trigger. Ion blasts rip past Alata, one piercing her right wing. Her ship begins slowly losing altitude. Alex: Got his wing. He's going down.

She let out a sigh as she landed as safely as she could and opened the cockpit, jumping out.

As he turns back toward the city, he gives the Coyote one last look and once again descends below the clouds. A few minutes later, they arrive back at the dealership and Alex lands the Mosquito back in lot 42. He exits and heads back over to the shop. On the way, he realizes they left Alata in the dust. He glances around quickly, and doesn't see her ship... He enters the shop, where Sam has set down his Reaver and is standing near it, observing the damage. Alex clears his throat to get his attention. Alex: Looks like you took a couple hits. Sam: Yep. The toothpick in Sam's mouth moves as if it has a mind of its own. Alex: Seen my friend? Everything was happening so fast, I don't know where she went. He pauses. Alex: Uhh, she was flying a black 556A. Just like the one I just shot down. He scratches his head.

Sam: That quiet elf chick? Alex: Yeah. Sam: Nope. Maybe she just left in the heat of things. Well, anyway..That was fun. Sam heads over to his missile pods, and pulls down hatch on each one. He opens a crate of missiles, and reloads each pod. After he finishes that, and closes the hatches, he runs his hand over the holes in his ship. Sam: Shouldn't be too hard to fix. He then remember that Alex was buying a sip. Sam: Oh, I guess you'll be wanting that ship?

He blinks. Alex: You know, I just realized my old Beast is crashed in the middle of a road a few blocks away with my cargo still in it. How you going to get that back here? He still has this terrible feeling that he just shot down Alata.
