Tucker saves the data on his watch and unplugs the tool, setting it on the table. He circles around Star a few times, looking for the most minor of scratches. He finally settles on one just above her left ankle. Tucker: Hold on a tick. He goes to a bench on the other side of the room and pulls a tool off the wall. He plugs it in to an extention cord and turns it on. It makes a loud whirring sound. He fiddles around with it a bit, then sets it down. He finds a chair, three small pads of unknown use (to Star at least), and brings everything back over. Tucker: Sit down, ne? I've got some expirementing to do. He holds the tool up. It looks like a strange red iron with a bulb-shape glued on top. Tucker: This is an Octo mulit-finishing sander. |

When she's told to sit down, she nods and does so, her legs half-folded inward with her knees upward and leaning back on her palms. With that, she continues to watch intently, apparently content just listening for the moment. |
Balinor Pill Popping Medic 4/4/2008 11:05:49 AM Level: 1 Experience: 0 Total Posts: 48 | RE: Tenga Cuidado con Piedras Tucker turns the sander on, it takes care of the nick on Star's ankle very nicely. He takes out a rag and applies a small drop of a chemical compound to it, and rubs it into the sanded area of Star's leg. The shine returns, you wouldn't be able to tell there was a scratch there at all. He continues in this way to take care of the rest of the scrapes and before too long, Star looks 50% better than she had only an hour ago. Tucker takes a step back to admire his work. Tucker: Very good. Now... for those dents... Since your shell is so thin, I think I can take care of it without too much trouble. Tucker puts the sander away and disappears again into a back room. Something heavy drops and meets the ground with a loud crash, a long string of cussing follows. A few minutes later he comes back out with a dent remover. It looks like a pot lid with two large handles on either side. Tucker smiles. Tucker: We'll see. |
Lydyn S.T.A.R. 4/4/2008 4:09:23 PM Level: 1 Experience: 0 Total Posts: 116 | RE: Tenga Cuidado con Piedras Star is rather still, patient, and silent... and if she were human, she'd seem to be perfectly and happily content just sitting there and letting the young man work on her body. Though she seems to watch the whole time in a very subtle manner, only moving her head and eyes to see. As Tucker smiles, assuming he had been looking at the metallic body of the android, her "skin" seems to.. move or ripple slightly, making it seem very errie and oddly alive for a moment or two. Star seems to notice this oddity in either case and simply looks down for a few moments. "One of my systems seems to have fixed itself partially, likely just by chance as it's been trying to run ever since you began sanding my exterior shell ..." she comments, after Tucker's remark, assuming he had said something after - or if - seeing the strange ripple in the metal. |
Balinor Pill Popping Medic 4/4/2008 5:46:15 PM Level: 1 Experience: 0 Total Posts: 48 | RE: Tenga Cuidado con Piedras Tucker's jaw drops slightly, and he nods at Star's explination. Her skin rippling... is probably the most fantastic thing he's seen in a long time. Tucker: Which system? He expects her to talk as he goes about pulling all the dents out of her skin. The tool is very useful and simple, using almost the same principle as a toilet plunger, to force the dents out of the metal. Once he finishes, all but the most severe dents are completely erased. The biggest ones seem to have a small crease down the middle of where they once were, but it really doesn't look bad at all. Tucker: Now that's done... is there any other external damage you want me to look at? Or can I feel free to pop your arm open and start looking at what makes you tick? His face is a beet. -- Balinor and Markus are walking down the hall as William finds them. Markus looks positively stricken. Balinor is smiling a little crookedly, William takes one look at her and he raises his eyebrows a little. Balinor taps Markus on the shoulder lightly and he skitters off in a hurry. Balinor: He didn't do it. William: What about his record? Balinor: He made it up. William: ... Balinor: He thought it would be... cool. William barks a sharp laugh and Markus feels his ears burning as he changes Mr. Matterson's bedpan. |

"Informative systems to the exterior shell ... though there's too many errors to explain exactly what it does, but it seems to be sending some kind of signal to my exterior shell and it's somehow responding." As he finishes, she moves her arms and legs a bit to look at her shell for a few moments and nods a bit as she looks back to him and offers up her arm. The small panel seems to slide out of the way revealing a small compartment that looks like it'd hold a cell or cartridge of some kind. Plug-ins for wires seems to be in place and a small background light is displayed. Though it looks mostly meant to stay that way, there seems to be a tiny panel on the side that can be popped open. |
Balinor Pill Popping Medic 4/9/2008 9:08:10 PM Level: 1 Experience: 0 Total Posts: 48 | RE: Tenga Cuidado con Piedras ((Sorry it took so long!!! I got very busy at school. )) Tucker inspects the compartment and takes mental notes. Tucker: This looks like it could be for a battery... He pokes around, gently, until he sees the tiny panel. He finds a small screwdriver and pops the panel open with it to see what wonders it could hold. As smart as he is, he feels a little bit over his head right now. It will probably take him a very long time to even begin to figure out what's wrong with STAR, and what he can do to fix it. But he is determind. And really, he has nothing better to do. |
Lydyn S.T.A.R. 4/9/2008 10:15:05 PM Level: 1 Experience: 0 Total Posts: 116 | RE: Tenga Cuidado con Piedras Star nods a bit at his comment about the battery and simply watches once more as he pops the small panel. What he sees inside is wires and parts from very complex machinery that mostly look human, but other parts that look completely out of the ordinary and quite alien. Little electrical pulses steadly going through as well as blue tube-like wires that seem to be pumping some blue substance of some sort, almost looking like a cross-breed of gel and energy - which must've looked very unusual. He was definitely over his head on this one, but there was still various parts which he probably could've guessed at and been right on target. Only about a tenth of what he saw actually seemed alien in nature while the other ninth was anything from simple or complex human machinery. |
Szyren Phoenix in Training 4/10/2008 11:37:01 PM Level: 1 Experience: 0 Total Posts: 122 | RE: Tenga Cuidado con Piedras Tucker takes it all in and closes the panel. Tucker: This is a lot... there's some things in you that seem very... foreign. And I'm just a ship mechanic, really. Well, I can do some other things too... He trails off and scratches the back of his head. Tucker: Do you have a USB cable input? He blinks. Tucker: If I could see what your programming was, it would be easier to... figure out what's wrong with it. He looks at the cell space in her arm again and takes a mental measure of it. Tucker: I have a bunch of stuff that might fit in there, if you wanna give it a try. Sometimes you get a better perspective of things when they're up-side-down. |

Star nods a bit and with her other hand removes the hair from the back of her neck to show a port that allowed one to hook her up to a computer before she answered his other question. "A bunch of 'stuff'? What, exactly, were you thinking of putting in my arm?" |
