RE: The Streets of Kepp

The woman smiled towards the two and tilted her head an amused curiosity. "You already have a pet? How adorable. Hm, I guess the other one isn't with you then? ... No? I see. Maybe he will be later." She looks up, looking completely causal in the pairs presence and nodding before waving in a twisted, but friendly manner. "Stay alive, little Yamada ... ta-ta." Just as the creature before, the woman had vanished into the mere shadows, leaving no trace of her ever being there.

By now, of what Locke could hear, it'd be obvious it was the woman he had just battle that had just been talking before her voice seemed to disappear.

Yamada blinked, surprised and gave Terrathel an odd questioning look, lowering her half-sized katana to her side and then letting her gaze go back to where the woman had been. Before anyone knew it, Wares had come up behind Locke and was pointing a laser rifle at his chest. "Don't move an inch..." he warned, and even if Locke didn't turn around he could tell this was no mere military man. Something in his voice spoke more experience and skill.

Yamada looked back to the voice down the hallway and gripped her katana tightly, glancing to Terrathel. It seemed she had noticed he was more experienced, at least in general, than she was.

Terrathel stood up fully "more magic..... I have to learn about it if we're going to be fighting it." he hit the com button "Status report, two targets have vanished into shadows, one injured, is everything covered? where are we needed?" He retrieved his knife and sheathed it, waiting for an answer. He continued to swing his gun to keep every angle of the room watched.

RE: The Streets of Kepp

The familiar voice traveled made its voyage through his mind. It seemed as if he had gotten himself into a complex and delicate situation. All for the sake of his maniacally fueled curiosity. However, he was no longer curious. He appeared indifferent of the world and moved not once as the voice vibrated through the door. His expression remained barren. In fact the only portion of his body that showed life were the whitening knuckles of his right hand which gripped the handle of the gunmetal hued .45 magnum.

A pesty voice bounced uncomfortably through his ear canal. It took him several seconds, at least ten, before he showed reaction. For those ten seconds, he indeed did not move and inch. Not because of his adherence to this man's orders, but because he failed to register the words in an urgent manner. Locke's eyes then snapped to the right of their sockets, calculating a distorted peripheral image. He could not visually see this man, but he imagined him quite brutally in his mind. A man of short and stocky stature, of limited physical attractiveness, a man perhaps donning a mustache or some other pompous facial accessory and probably an unconfident fellow attempting to wield a firearm that compensated for something lacking. He absolutely torn this lad apart in the sick universe of his mind.

Just as those thoughts dissipated into the darkness, he gradually pivoted on his right foot, as if tempting the validity of this man's words. As Locke's skull rotated, his waning face revealed a closed set of eyes. Once he completed the pivot, he lingered a moment more before his lids peeled open. He gazed through the eyes of this character before him; his face remained desolate. The magnum at his right hip hung with slack from his finger tips. Outside, the monotonous rhythm of the squalls sang eternally through his synapses.

Wares narrowed his eyes at the man, his face was actually strong-looking, and like he smiled a lot, but from his expression he was obviously not a stranger to more serious situations. Compared to most, he didn't seem as phased as one may think by the vanishing woman. He has no facial hair and his eyes were a calm blue, and his body was actually rather well-built and he held the rifle with utmost confidence.

She lightly clicked something on a com-link and went back to keeping a steady target on the man before him. "Alpha and Beta are dead and the hostiles seem gone now, except one. A man standing outside of your location." Wares seemed aware of what Terrathel would likely do and stopped talking, waiting for the back-up.

In the other room, Yamada frowned lightly, but relaxed some knowing Wares well enough to know he'd be able to handle a man. She nods to Terrathel a little and started her exit from the lobby and the hallway beyond, seeming thoughtful. She opened the door opposite of the one Locke was near and kept it open for Terrathel as her eyes examined the man right away, though it was hard saying what was what without seeing his face. She could tell something was odd though, due to Ware's expression and narrorwed her eyes slightly.

Terrathel stepped to the door frame, and stepped out gun first, and trained directly on Locke his left hand on the knife, "this one won't get a chance to disappear. If you try you die."

He stepped out into the open. and closed half the distance, never get too close to a target unless you want to risk going into melee, never with a gun in your hand, you'll lose all your advantage.

The words of Terrathel were quite clearly recepted by Locke. However, he did not remove his gaze from the man wielding the rifle. Cocking his head and eclipsing his pupils further, he appeared to be evaluating this being before him. A brief time passed before the .45 magnum slipped from his grip and dove to the patterned tile below. Upon impact, the weapon leapt slightly and laid to rest. Locke's reaction to this was a mere shift of his leer to the magnum. His eyes remain locked for a moment before they gradually drifted back to Wares. Like calm and rough seas, his expression reverted to the smirk which had painted his face earlier. His eyes seemed to light up and he even allowed a smile, although tainted with mild bane, to slip its way onto his lips. He then addressed the three of them as he removed a cigarette and the torch from his pocket.

"First of all, you there behind me. Shut up. All I've heard is your voice and I can already tell that you are a pest. Yamada. I heard that name just now. I suppose you are over there with your friend. I'd like to meet you, Yamada."

His use of repetition allowed his words to flow in an unusual manner through the humid air. He lit his cigarette, deposited the torch in his coat, and breathed in the chemical stimulant. He then raised his head and closed his eyes for a moment, as if awaiting a reply. A spontaneous chuckle slipped from his lips whilst an array of thoughts spiraled through his mind. It was apparent that this situation was growing tense.

Wares sneered a bit at that comment and hit his com once more. "Team nine, we have a hostage." That was all he needed to say, apparently as nothing was even replied back. It was hard to tell if the others had really gotten the message or not, since no background noises seemed to reach anyone's ears right now.

Yamada became serious again, slowly walking around the held man, a good seven feet away until she was able to examine his face. At first, she simply held that expression until she sighed and looked towards her left and where Locke had come from. Still, she was silent, letting Terrathel say what he wanted while she seemed to examine the bodies.

Yamada shook her head a bit and looked back to Locke. She slowly seemed more alert and ready, just as well as Wares did, landing a gentle hand on her laser pistol. It was as if she was becoming more aware of his danger as time slipped by. "Nice to meet you... and your name is?" she seemed to question him in a polite, careful manner.

Terrathel twitched, I've definitely become soft if I can be considered annoying he definitely understood that what he said was completely unnecessary which annoyed him as well, but he was irritated and frustrated at his own poor performance this time, and the oddness of his targets.

Since he had nothing more to say, and the situation appeared to be under control, he went back to grab the severed half arm of the first creature, returning with the weird thing, he began his own investigation on it, looking at the shape of the bones, the skin thickness, even sniffing at and dipping a finger into the blue blood-like goo. He had to learn about magic, and how to combat it, he almost imagined the blood was tingling on the tip of his left ring finger (the finger he had used).

RE: The Streets of Kepp

"Hostage? Hah!"

Locke's voice struck a tone of dry mockery. He perceived Yamada's voice as pleasant, like that of an innocent child. He then inhaled a stream of smoke,  shot Wares a final glare, and turned his back to the rifle. Completing his rotation, he observed Yamada and Terrathel with ocular sentries. They both stood at a short height with a somewhat wiry build. In fact, his eyes calibrated to an almost 50 degree angle downward to meet their faces. Terrathel's spoil of battle caught his attention. He had never seen anything like it. He then raised a quick brow before shifting his attention to Yamada.

"My name is Locke, it is nice to meet you as well." His voice sailed with grace and mild sincerity. Noting the palm she rested on the laser pistol, he further addressed her.

"I don't think there is a need for that, ma'am. Although I will admit. I killed a couple of men clad in military uniform. I do hope they weren't of your unit." A voice laced with heavy sarcasm rolled from his mouth. His head cocked over his shoulder and he shot Wares an second antagonizing grin. He then turned forward and awaited a likely retaliation from the respected soldier.

The blue-liquid seemed more alien than anything, almost, though it did have an odd scent to it. Otherwise from the bony structure, as if it had extra it didn't need, there was nothing extremely unique about it.

Meanwhile, Wares didn't seem to budge, acting like a real professional as steps of soldiers could finally be heard coming up the stairs, though it was still rather quiet.

Yamada seemed to react more than Wares did, frowning slightly and sighing as she relaxed some. "You hope? That's doubtful... I'm inclined to just let the general speak with you. This is probably a waste of my time," she replied in a tone that had bluntness but perhaps something else, but who knew what.

She walked towards Terrathel more so and too looked over the strange limb that had come from the creature, while keeping an eye on the assassin.
