Neil Castle Some Crazy Merc Dominion Master 4/2/2008 11:17:10 PM Level: 1 Experience: 0 Total Posts: 125 | RE: The Mist of Wist Neil stands at the edge of the now-open cockpit and stares at the solid orange colored river. And he just took a shower. Considering it's raining—as it apparently always is on Wist—he figures maybe it'll wash him off, at least a bit. But then comes the problem of not getting water in his guns. The blasters would be fine a couple shots later, and the firearms probably would be too, but... After all this thinking, he realizes everybody else has either reached or almost reached shore and the ship has almost entirely sunk, the water level now mere inches below him. The boots won't exactly aid his swimming, so he starts to take them off. He's touching water by now. He finally gets both shoes off—being Magnum Stealth boots, it took quite some time—ties them together by their laces, and carefully steps into the water. He flails wildly to cross the river. He's no swimmer, but at least he can make it. When he finally reaches the shore, he is breathing heavily and exhausted. There's an ungodly roar nearby. He sees a mob of big, scaly, white-skinned humanoids with morbid guns approaching. Great. |
Szyren Phoenix in Training 4/2/2008 11:32:07 PM Level: 1 Experience: 0 Total Posts: 122 | RE: The Mist of Wist Szyren shoves all her clothes back on as quickly as possible just in time to hear a loud screech and to see a bunch of ugly as sin mother-fraggers coming to greet them with smiles plastered all over their nasty faces. Szyren: Hey, Tin-Can-Man. You're gonna have to wait on that first aid slag 'till these worms are taken care of. She arms herself with various exploding things. She's getting rather excited... and breating has become exceedingly difficult. It's been worse, she keeps telling herself. So it's not that bad. Sometimes you get a better perspective of things when they're up-side-down. |
Short Billy Gold Captain and Crew of the Frozen Chicken Pirate Dominion Master 4/2/2008 11:36:41 PM Level: 1 Experience: 0 Total Posts: 21 | RE: The Mist of Wist The lead grunt falls face-first into the mud as a chunk of its head explodes. Not realizing where the shot actually came from, the rest of them assume it was the crash survivors and continue running toward them, harder and more determined, beginning to fire now. Someone yells at the survivors to take cover. Fully-automatic gunfire erupts from the edge of the city, felling several grunts. Only three rifles are shooting now as several people, dressed in rags and make-shift body armor, move up to close the gap between them and the Rippov. Now realizing who was actually shooting them, the grunts turn around and return fire. Jack Knopfler takes aim once again with his scoped G3 and fires a shot, blowing up the head of another grunt. They're close now, so he switches it back to full-auto and moves in closer, revving the bayosaw mounted on the bipod slot. He brings it down on a grunt, who blocks it with his mutant rifle. The grunt knocks Jack back onto his butt, who begins firing square into its chest until the .308 rounds penetrate its armor. It falls over dead. They finish off the few remaining grunts and meet the survivors at the shoreline, helping some out of the water. Jack is a hulking Ellixan of somewhat later years, making the H&K rifle he wields almost look small and dwarfing the AK103 on his back. He stands out from the rest of his soldiers by the ceremonial Ellixan battle armor he wears. He takes it that Imelda is the leader of the group and holds out his hand in greeting. Jack: I'm Jack. |
kairne Mind Destroyer 4/3/2008 12:13:31 AM Level: 1 Experience: 0 Total Posts: 58 | RE: The Mist of Wist He sees everyone leave to the cockpit and follows them. He stays up as the Rippov seemingly coem out of nowhere. When the battle is over he jumps into the water and begins to swim to tthe bank. When he reaches land he begins the tedious task of drying off his weapons. Truth coughs sharply as he watches Jack greet them. He silently stares off into space as Kai retrieves his meds back on Perrenor. Truth begins to administer first aid to the unamed survivors then walks over to Imelda. "er...Boss?" he says trying to think of what to call her "want me to treat that broken arm of yours?" your mind is my playground |
Szyren Phoenix in Training 4/3/2008 12:23:14 AM Level: 1 Experience: 0 Total Posts: 122 | RE: The Mist of Wist Szyren throws her arms up at the injustice of it all and realises that it was a bad idea too late. She falls on her butt and winces, barking out a sharp cry. She doesn't want to be a background character... She sniffles and arranges all her exploding toys on her person somewhere so they can be easily accessed. She begins to eat a klondike bar. |
Neil Castle Some Crazy Merc Dominion Master 4/3/2008 12:29:12 AM Level: 1 Experience: 0 Total Posts: 125 | RE: The Mist of Wist Neil has mixed feelings about the rate at which his group is growing, though grateful that all of these well-armed men slaughtered the monsters that apparently wanted to eat him or something. He then notices Szyren's sour mood. Neil: Hey! Want to go shoot rockets at mans? Or mans-eating worms... or... things? Whatever they are? And find this guy we came here to find in the first place? That would be— He plays air guitar with appropriate meedly-meedling sound effects from his mouth. Neil: —kickin' rad! Pyrotechnics go off behind him in an aesthetically pleasing manner to accompany his air solo. It's most likely only in his head. |
Szyren Phoenix in Training 4/3/2008 12:41:55 AM Level: 1 Experience: 0 Total Posts: 122 | RE: The Mist of Wist Szyren lights a very tiny sparkler to make Neil's fantasies a reality. Szyren: That sounds like a plan! Let's go. She stands up too fast and everything goes black a little bit. She grabs Neil's arm and leans on him. Szyren: Let's go... slowly. She smiles, but it looks like a growl almost. Szyren: Do you think we should take them with us? She makes a general gesture to the marine-type people. They have guns. And guns prevent one from getting eaten by man eating worms. Even though, at this point, Szyren has to say they look more like man eating gorillas. Someone misinformed her. That someone would probably not pay. Sometimes you get a better perspective of things when they're up-side-down. |
Neil Castle Some Crazy Merc Dominion Master 4/3/2008 6:10:30 PM Level: 1 Experience: 0 Total Posts: 125 | RE: The Mist of Wist Neil is delighted by the tiny sparkler. Szyren gestures at the small group of heavily armed men that make Neil feel uncomfortable and asks if they should come along. Neil: If we value our hides, yes. But we'd be in a Verizon commercial. He points at the group. Neil: And they're the network. But we should probably... go with them for a while since I don't know a thing about this planet and... He notices one of the dead things is at his feet. He nudges it with his boot. Neil: ... These dudes don't look like they die very easily. |
Imelda Failte Captain of the Red Water Space Pirate 4/3/2008 6:44:07 PM Level: 1 Experience: 0 Total Posts: 28 | RE: The Mist of Wist Jack: I'm Jack. Imelda: I am Meladi. Thank you for your help. Truth: Uhh... Boss? Want me to treat that broken arm of yours? Imelda: Well, I am not your boss. But yes, that would be nice. Truth sets her arm (while Imelda cusses and thrashes about.) They make a lousy splint for it, out of what material they have, and call it good enough. Imelda: Jack, I want to thank you again for your help. We would all be dead if it wasn't for you. I would also greatly appreciate it, if you would let us go along with you at least for a little way. I think we all have things we need to do here, but... a team of Marines would make things easier...? She hopes she didn't come across too pushy. She looks around and sees Szyren sitting on the ground pouting, and Neil saying something about Verizon. She hopes they're alright. Though their meeting started with hostility, she had quickly grown fond of the duo. |
Short Billy Gold Captain and Crew of the Frozen Chicken Pirate Dominion Master 4/3/2008 7:20:05 PM Level: 1 Experience: 0 Total Posts: 21 | RE: The Mist of Wist Jack: We're not Marines, ma'am. We're just civilians trying to stay alive. I doubt you want to go where we're going, but we can take you back to our hideout if you'd like. It's better than hanging around out here. Jack pulls the magazine out of his G3 and begins to top it off with loose rounds he has in a satchel pocket. He sticks the magazine back into the weapon and flings it around to his back, pulling the AK around in front of him. --- Short Billy and Mr. Mozart finally emerge from the maze of alleyways to see the field littered with the corpses of Rippov soldiers. Short Billy: Oh. |
