Balinor Pill Popping Medic 3/14/2008 10:59:53 PM Level: 1 Experience: 0 Total Posts: 48	Balinor Black Character Name: Balinor “Bali” Black Age: 26 Gender: Female Race: Human Profession: Medic Description:  Bali has always been a very straightforward girl, which often found her having difficulties expressing herself in terms understandable by the greater population, for she will always say things as succinctly as possible.  She doesn’t feel the need for long explanations.  She has a highly developed vocabulary and a quick mind, but never uses flowery words where something simple and concise will suffice.  She is neat, clean, and organized and has an amazing knack for spatial planning and analytical thinking. Her strict personality is well balanced by a rather morose appearance.  Her eyes seem to be only pupil, an illusion created by ebony irises that shine with the same lack of depth as a porcelain doll.  In the middle of her right iris is a bright blue fleck, a birth mark in her eye which she views as a deformity.  Her hair is short, straight, and black (though it has an almost purple sheen) and has a habit of falling in her eyes when she goes for a long period without paying attention to it.  She is, overall, remarkably average looking, or so she believes.  Her military training gained her lean muscle mass, which she still retains, though it harldy shows. Bali suffers from occasional fits of psychosis, which she takes ample amounts of medicine to prevent.  However, under great stress, she is prone to lose contact with reality.  During these outbursts, Bali’s personality fluctuates greatly and it is almost impossible to predict what she will do.  She becomes chaotic, sporadic, and disorganized.  Given time or sedatives she will eventually return to reality, sometimes remembering her hysterics, but most often not. History: Bali was born on Ellix to rigid and highly conservative parents.  She had three older brothers, two of them twins, and an older sister.  Of the four of them, only the sister and one of the twins, Elijia, didn’t die during their initial military service.  The sister, Persia, became a military lawyer and still lives on the planet.  Elijia, however, went MIA shortly after being redrafted and his family has not heard from him since.  They all presume he is dead. When Bali was 5, she began mandatory military training where she excelled at marksmanship.  By the time she was 7 she had the highest ratio of hits to miss in her class, and by 10 she was awarded her first rifle sharpshooter award.  Over the next two years she would win five more in three different categories: rifle, all-around handgun, and all-around long gun.  She also broke the record for her age group in four training obstacle courses.  Because of these and other exemplary performances, Bali was considered for a position in a tactical ops team. In order to qualify, Bali had to undergo a series of psychiatric and physical tests.  She passed the physical exams with flying colors, but due to discrepancies in her psychiatric evaluations, she did not make the cut.  Her parents, who had placed great pride in the achievements of their youngest, considered this a great let down and kicked Bali out of the house, at which time she experienced her first attack of the psychosis that would continue to plague her for the rest of her life. Balinor was confined to a mental institution for several weeks where she underwent a more thorough series of psychiatric tests.  The results were inconclusive, though it was clear that the fit was brought about by an extremely high level of stress. Balinor was now 14.  She was excused from military training, but her parents would not let her leave military service and enrolled her in medical school where she was trained as a medic.  She graduated from basic training at the age of 19, the oldest graduate in her class.  From there, she went on to the Alexander Suerton University of Medicinal Practices, where she studied to be a surgeon.  She suffered an attack bi-annually, on finals weeks, but she was not dismissed from school (all her professors loved her) and graduated egregia cum laude (one step up from summa cum laude) three years later. Given her history of mental illness she could not find lasting employment on Ellix.  So she left the planet and for the past five years has been taking on odd medic jobs wherever a healer is needed. But each variant has a different price, so I need to know which one (or ones, since you have two) that you want. The 9mm variant is 850 tape. It's the smallest and weakest caliber, but holds 15 rounds. The .40 variant is 900 tape and ever so slightly bigger and heavier, and fires a bit more powerful round, but holds 13 rounds. The .45 variant is 1000 tape, and fires an even more powerful round, and holds 12 rounds. Take your pick! Other than that, approved!
