Lobiel Enforcer Captain 5/3/2009 9:57:33 PM Level: 1 Experience: 0 Total Posts: 14 | A "Routine" Stop Lobiel tried another combination to the locket and the lock stood fast, he scratched off another combination from the list of every possible combination. He tried one more and it failed. He groaned as a beep on his radar distracted him from his work. He looked at the readouts MTR-82 Spacehawk ... 3 Occupants ... Armed ... In Transit from Micc to Cerania ... . "Great...most likely one of them is a magic user and most likely they are criminals" Lobiel sighed. He cleared his throat and pulled in closer to them and sent a transmission over to them "Please halt, this is a routine stop authorized by Enforcer Command. If you do not come to a complete stop I am authorized to use force." |
Raelan inventor/mage 5/5/2009 12:40:20 AM Level: 1 Experience: 0 Total Posts: 94 | RE: A "Routine" Stop Raelan blinked, and hesitated as the unexpected call came over his radio. He'd been stopped oh..... once before in his life, but it had been uneventful, so he complied, since 'stopped' is extremely relative in space, he slowed to match momentum with the patrol ship, and shut off the hyperdrive to imply compliance, the cooling would register on their sensors. He unhooked his metal cybernetic hand from the control system he used to pilot the ship. "looks like we're gonna have a visitor or two. Please try not to act too strange." He chuckled and gave his passengers a small smile to let them know it was half joke. He then went back to the airlock the ship would be docking with. His clothing was fairly ordinary, as he wasn't preparing for any shows, but his obvious Keifan features made the metal mesh of his right forearm and hand stick out as even more odd. Especially considering that most people had such things colored to match their skin. |
Lobiel Enforcer Captain 5/6/2009 12:09:16 AM Level: 1 Experience: 0 Total Posts: 14 | RE: A "Routine" Stop He piloted the ship close and attached to Raelan's ship. He prepared himself for the worst and kept his gun ready to be drawn. Lobiel fixed the collar to his blue and gold trimmed uniform and opened the airlock. He looked at Raelan with interest, particularly due to his arm. He made a note on a notepad he ahd brought with him. Lobiel looked around and noticed the clutter. "Mind uh... telling me what this all is?" he pick up a near gadget and fumbled with it. |
Lao-tzu Ancient Thinker 5/7/2009 10:56:14 AM Level: 1 Experience: 0 Total Posts: 56 | RE: A "Routine" Stop More than the commanding presence from the crisp space armor, Lao-tzu sensed the force of law in the captain's will. Captain Lobiel was an embodied extension of a system that combined ruthless power with strict rules to provide a reason for its own existence and the means to preserve it. Police were a constant in human societies, but to Lao-tzu they were a gray zone in terms of desirability and the forces of good and evil. Much of this was obvious to his finely tuned senses from the start, but once his curiosity was piqued the wizard started to pry deeper using subtle arcana. From his position in the back of the vessel, he was able to cast his small magic without drawing undue notice from the preoccupied captain. The Enforcer's personal being was neatly tucked underneath this grander entity, but served to fill it out and give it body and shape. The sage was fascinated by the way people and their professional ties complemented and accentuated each other. Distracted by this aspect of things, Lao-tzu did not uncover anything that hinted at Lobiel's antipathy towards magic and assumed that the captain's overly suspicious attitude naturally came from executing the traffic stop. (excuse me if I've misinterpreted Lobiel's character. PM me or write something here if I got something wrong ^^) (edit: ok, got your message about his anti-magic armor and stabby thingie. I'll mention that next time, as it doesn't really fit in to this otherwise non-physical post. Lao-tzu isn't casting magic directly at Lobiel as much as tapping into the weave of life surrounding the man.) |
TheWalruss Starcey Crystal 5/7/2009 5:48:58 PM Level: 1 Experience: 0 Total Posts: 44 | RE: A "Routine" Stop Starcey had faced cops before - but never in space, of course. The helplessness, the sense of having nowhere to run, the trickling fear of the void of outer space. The whole situation made her skin crawl. Beads of sweat appeared on her skin. She tried to stay unnoticed, her gun a dead weight in her pocket. Tried to keep her nerves under control. Tense, waiting for this pig to start asking questions. Wondering what her options were. What would happen to her if he discovered her gun. Or worse - Her bike. This wouldn't be easy... |
Dante Eccentric Assasin 5/11/2009 11:00:45 PM Level: 1 Experience: 0 Total Posts: 42 | RE: A "Routine" Stop (Just a note you don't have to wait for Dante's post) Dante shifted uncomfortably in his chair. He had dealt with the Enforcers numerous times, almost all of them ended badly. He felt his gun in it's belt holster. |
Lobiel Enforcer Captain 5/20/2009 11:45:46 PM Level: 1 Experience: 0 Total Posts: 14 | RE: A "Routine" Stop (Where is everyone?) To Protect and Serve...Good words to die by |
Lao-tzu Ancient Thinker 5/21/2009 10:10:39 AM Level: 1 Experience: 0 Total Posts: 56 | RE: A "Routine" Stop (i guess we're waiting for Raelan... or Lobiel can just decide for himself what the gadget and "it all" is and Starcey, Lao-tzu, or even Dante can react.. RAELAN, WE MISS YOU) |
Lobiel Enforcer Captain 5/22/2009 10:40:13 PM Level: 1 Experience: 0 Total Posts: 14 | RE: A "Routine" Stop He shrugged as he set the gadget down and produced a small notepad and pencil. "Ok I'm gonig to need a few things...Your names, your occupations and if your carrying any weapons please hand them over." he looked at each of them "statiscally speaking at least one of you four have a weapon of some kind...you'll get them back when I'm done." Lobiel read their body language and assumed Starcey and Dante had a weapon and he was unsure of what Lao-Tzu kept hidden. |
Raelan inventor/mage 5/24/2009 4:41:48 PM Level: 1 Experience: 0 Total Posts: 94 | RE: A "Routine" Stop (sorry sorry) Raelan hesitated, rather to the point wasn't he? "Pardon, I am Raelan Wathuru, I own this ship, I'm an inventor of sorts, and a showman, the pieces you see strewn about are works in progress of mine, and the only weapon-like one is far from completion. The young lady," he said gesturing, "Is Starcey Crystal, on a trip to her homeworld with the older gentleman, Lao-Tsu, as an adviser and friend. And Dante, I'm sorry, I forgot your last name.... is coming off of vacation. As we were all headed to the same planet, ship-pooling seemed a simple answer." Trying to make the best of his showman charisma in this awkward setting. Nothing he'd said was a lie, as he inherently disliked lying, some facts were omitted or stretched, but that's camouflage. Lying doesn't happen in nature, but camouflage does. |
