After his father's death aboard a hijacking gone wrong, his Uncle took him under his wing and taught him the ways of a soldier. At the age of 16, he joined his Uncle's mercenary company, Phoenix Defense, and began participating in live-fire operations at the age of 18. By the age of 26, his skills finely honed, Ryan was planning ops and doing much of the grunt work for his Uncle, who had ailing health and needed assistance running the company. At the age of 30, he was given his call sign "Sprint" for his use of speed and surprise when fighting in combat. After his Uncle's death, he assumed control of the unit, renaming it Iron Security, and leading it to a period of expansion and prosperity. But alas, after 3 years of exceptional business, his cousin and comrade, Stephen, betrayed him out of jealousy, taking over Iron and renaming it once again Phoenix. Ryan was forced out and sent on his way with a little bit of tape, and a lot of pain and anguish. He has two goals, fight for money and to find his cousin and kill him. Ryan now wanders the solar system, working as a freelance contractor waiting again for the day where he can begin his own company.
