We can't really recommend a world for you to start on without information. Knowing if you want to join another player(s) quickly, what your character is like, and all that stuff would help, but basically you should just look at the worlds and pick one you like. scapino scapino 7/16/2007 11:33:44 PM Level: 1 Experience: 0 Total Posts: 19	RE: hey guys So, I posted a beginning on the Lanus board.  I've been reading through a lot of the posts, which is fun, but I'm still not sure how it all works--but I'm totally into improvising and I figured I could just jump in and sort things out later.  If I write anything that contradicts anything previously established about the universe or the worlds let me know. My plan, I guess, is to have Scapino's arms dealing friend take him in his ship to the Blizzard system, maybe to Perrenor, so he can interact w/ some other characters. Do the starting ship restrictions apply to the ship Scapino is riding on, if he isn't going to end up with it?   Maybe i'll make it a light ship and then have him try to steal it...

How it works is you basically write a snippet of the story at a time. If you're playing with someone else, you would write parts back and forth, usually only controlling your character(s). Or is that not what you meant by "not sure how it all works"? EDIT: Oh, did you mean like history and stuff? Don't worry about reading all the old posts. I really don't want new members to have to sift through pages and pages of old RPs just to get up to speed on current events in the universe unless they want to. XD

There are a lot of different things Scap needs to do, so if there is a story that could accommodate another character, let me know and I could arrange him showing up there for some reason. If not I can tool around by myself for a while--but I'd prefer writing w/ other people. I was just reading the RPs to get a sense of things--I'll probably read some more backstories when I know where the character will be next.

We generally just use them the same way as normal characters--whoever created the NPC controls him. Right now, a bunch of characters are involved in one storyline, but we're trying to get that finished. After that's finished, everyone's going to be free and ready to do something new. So if you want, you can just pick who to join. Just so you know, you're one of our three active members as of now. We need members badly, so if you know anyone that might be interested, please invite them. I might be able to get Samuel Jorgenson to come back, and maybe Alex Williams. We'll see, but if you can get anyone to join, that would be a huge help, because I think the more active the board is, the more people will join.

As for me, I don't care if there are only a few characters or a good amount of time between posts.  So yeah, I'll just hang out and lurk whatever new posts there are, maybe write a bit more of the Lanus story. And there's an open invitation for people to throw screwy things into my storyline, have my NPCs do something, one-liners, whatever.  That way its more RP and less just writing.

Just so you know, Lanus's servers only encompass the planet itself. Once you leave the planet, you return to true reality. From reading your posts, I wasn't sure if you knew that, plus, I haven't written that anywhere. XD I'll throw it on the Lanus page in a few minutes. I might throw in a small post in your story in a little bit, though I might do it in the morning. I need to go to bed. XD
